Good news: Beloved tenor Thodoris Voutsikakis will perform at tradition-rich Theatro Technis Karolos Koun in Athens for the “Musical Spring” (Μουσική Άνοιξη). The program is called “Stin Odo Frynichou … again” (Στην οδό Φρυνίχου…ξανά).
With the artistic oversight of Lina Nikolakopoulou.
This should be an intimate, unplugged setting which will give the singer’s velvet voice and the prowess of the accompanying musicians its special place to shine.

Dates: Every Monday and Tuesday from March 13th and forward.

In memory of composer and drummer Nikos Antypas, who passed away one year ago:
ERT is broadcasting his most popular and some special songs with the voices of Haris Alexiou, Alkistis Protopsalti, Haris Katsimihas, Eleni Vitali, Marinella, Giorgos Dalaras and others.
Nikos Antypas was a longtime collaborator of Lina Nikolakopoulou, so let us celebrate the seminal songs they created together!

Today is the birthday of singing legend and musician Dimitra Galani who is very influential in the Greek music scene and in Lina Nikolakopoulou’s career. Therefore we chose the 1981 milestone song ‘Sta Kitrina Fota’ as a translation project to honour her great work. It is an adaption of Leonard Cohen’s “Famous Blue Raincoat”.

Radio station “Deftero Laika” showcases the new album of singer Giota Negka which assembles a bouquet of songs written by the grande dame of Greek Laiko Tragoudi, Eftychia Papagiannopoulou. The songs on “Tragoudontas tin Eftychia” were uniquely chosen for Negka’s program by Lina Nikolakopoulou, she can be heard narrating the introduction.

Remembering the internationally well-known Greek composer Evangelos Odysseas Papathanasiou (Vangelis) we would like to honor him with a song originating from a collaboration between himself, Lina Nikolakopoulou and Dimitra Galani: “Ki Eiches Chathei” (And You Were Gone) from the album “Ateleiotos Dromos” (Endless Road) 1983.

Today, Deftero Programma will air a tribute to artist and Armenian-Greek Rebetiko singer of the 1940s and 1950s, Marika Ninou.
“San Astro” (Like A Star) – a new theater play about Ninou’s life and music is staged in Theatro Karolous Koun in Odos Frynichou in Athens. Actor/director Giannos Perlegas and musician/accordionist Avgerini Gatsi will be guests in Lina Nikolakopoulou’s and Alexandra Christakaki’s radio show and will give us bits to enjoy.

She is set to talk about her musical influences, her work in composing for the big screen and her love for the sounds of the East, especially the Bosporus.

World premiere of “Ellinismos” – a new hymn, dedicated to the Greek diaspora.
The lyrics/poem is composed by Lina Nikolakopoulou and the music was written by Evanthia Reboutsika. The dignified music piece gives hommage to the connection of the Greek people in different countries of the world and sees the light of day in the year of the 200th birthday celebrations of the modern Greek state.

November and December 2021

Thodoris Voutiskakis gives a series of celebrated concerts at “Theatro Technis Karolus Koun” in the Greek capital’s Odos Frynichou which will showcase the most-loved songs of his career in an intimate setting. Lina Nikolakopoulou has the artistic supervision, so this should make for an elaborate and sophisticated song choice which surely will feature also some lesser known gemstones.

“ΗΤΑΝ ΜΙΑ ΛΕΞΗ ΜΟΝΑΧΑ… ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΙΑ” (“It Was Only One Word…FREEDOM”) – a musical event in honor of the Greek “Ochi Day” is planned to take place at Megaro Mousikis Thessalonikis (Thessaloniki Music Hall).
The performance will feature shining young tenor Thodoris Voutsikakis and singer Eleni Dimopoulou together with the Symphonic Orchestra of the city of Thessaloniki.
